So this was kind of a big steak day… Had the day off and was quite hungry, I wasn’t going to be catching up with anyone today so I went and cut off a double-size steak from my ribeye slab, covered it in smoked pink salt flakes and pepper and herbs, and roasted the sucker. Day Four – Men’s Club – our once a month meeting of blokes. Went to Jolly Miller’s, some quaint backyard old-school pub joint in Hindmarsh just out of Adelaide, I could almost see previous patrons broken teeth lying on the matted carpet. 30 day challenge starts off with a meh. Cremorne Hotel, Unley Rd. 300g rump was the only option today – I seldom order rump as it’s very lean and very difficult to get right – sure enough it came out medium rare, tasteless and chewy. I think it was about $20 bucks. Ah well, 29 days to go!
